Centuries before paper was invented, our ancestors used dried leaves as paper. The creative artist of Orissa decided to explore the possibility of using the processed palm leaf as a canvas to showcase their creativity and thus born the new genre of art called tala Patachitra. To promote this art Government of India has allotted an exclusive area called craft village in Raghuraipur in Puri district. When ever you are in Puri, do visit Raghuraipur and purchase at least one painting.
