Delhiites shivered today as the maximum temperature plummeted to 14 degree Celsius, making it the coldest day of this winter.
Icy winds blew across the city and overnight rains added to the chill in the morning hours. Fog also returned to the national capital as the mercury dropped overnight after 2 days of clear sky gave relief to old persons.
It was a foggy night in Delhi with the visibility falling below 50 meters at one point. The capital also recorded a rainfall of 0.5 mm during the night.
Rains had lashed the city over the past two days and were attributed to a western disturbance.
The Met department has predicted a downward trend for the mercury for the next two days when the minimum is likely to fall to as low as six degrees.
