Pizza on Moon and Indian Beauty Sarpanch

Today I came across two interesting news in Economics Times. One about young, female, jeans-clad sarpanch of Soda village in Rajasthan and other about opening of Domino’s new pizza outlet.

Let’s talk about first one – I was really happy to see Chavvi Rajawat’s photo while driving tractor in her village. She at 30 has become India’s youngest sarpanch and the only one holding an MBA degree. She has been actively involved in lot of water harvesting program in her village which has now started showing results. In her attempt to build fresh water reservoir for her village she hit number of bureaucratic walls of inefficiency and she decided to raise the fund of own. I wish this young lady all the best. She represented India at recently held UN poverty summit. According to her most youth in the village are unemployed as they don’t have higher education due to absence of college, and this can be changed with e-education. After taking over as a surpanch, Chavvi launched a website, where she regularly post funds allocated for projects such as a village bank, community center for weddings and cataract surgery. Today we need such type of young people who are ready to take initiative and make all India proud of them.

Now other news from out of India rather than out of this Earth. Domino’s pizza has announced plans to launch its first Pizza restaurant on the Moon. Construction firm Maeda has come up with the plan to open dome-shaped concrete Domino’s restaurant on the surface of the Moon. The entire project is estimated to cost 13.4 billion pound. A big question on corporate social responsibility and heights of pizza publicity war…
